A Mirror and a Lens, 2019

Digital video, 9mins with audio.
Music: excerpt from Birdsong by Tony Higgins

A Mirror and a Lens is a moving image work glimpsing the lives of two characters who have developed what may be seen as strange strategies for seeing and navigating the city.

A Mirror and a Lens combines storytelling, visuals, text, and sound, to explore ways of encountering one another, becoming-in-the-world, and interconnectivity. The work draws from research, personal experiences with anxiety, and imagined situations.

A TV is mounted on a white gallery wall. The screen shows a bright blue background and white text in the centre saying "it's a bright laugh that vibrates between you."
In front of the TV two young women sit on chairs, facing the screen, while wearing headphones.
